Pellets, what are they?
PELLETS are a 100% natural product and are classified as solid biomass due to their plant-based origin.
They are made from dry wood sawdust, without any additives, as the natural lignin in the wood acts as a binder.
To produce them, the sawdust is compressed under high pressure, forming pellets with a dense and durable composition.
The density of pellets must be greater than 1.15 g/cm³, which gives them a high calorific value.
Pellets are commonly used as fuel in pellet stoves and boilers due to their high energy efficiency.
They are considered the best wood-based fuel currently available and are easy to obtain.
